Recording from Michigan Camp 2018.

Questions:

On the leading of Spirit in the assembly meetings:

  1. What verses do we have that demonstrate that we have the leading of the spirit in the assembly meeting, and specifically, in the breaking of bread
  2. As a young brother, how do I perceive the leading of the spirit and differentiate the leading of the spirit versus my own thoughts? Is it better to err on the side of speaking when I might not have the spirit’s leading or not speak when I do?
  3. During the breaking of bread, can thinking unrelated thoughts negatively affect the atmosphere of the meeting? And, how can one stay focused?

1st Q&A, Session #1, Michigan Camp 2022

Recording from Michigan Camp 2022.

Questions:

  1. I sometimes get distressed thinking about all the lost who will go to hell. I know why, and I know that none of us deserves to be with the Lord in heaven, but I still really struggle with the thought of anyone spending eternity in hell. Sometimes it brings me to tears. Is this wrong?
  2. If a person is a believer and not at the Lord’s table, is that sin? Does James 4:17 apply to this?
  3. The lord has asked us to do it, and we need to obey. Fear holds back. Sin holds back. Different situations.

5th Q&A, Session #5, Michigan Camp 2019

Recording from Michigan Camp 2019.

  1. Why did God allow Satan in the Garden knowing he would tempt us? Furthermore why would he put the tree in our grasp?
  2. Can you clarify the dangers of legalism? Are the following not examples of legalism? Frowning upon:
    • woman wearing pants
    • Not homeschooling
    • enjoying monetary wealth
    • Socializing with those not in assembly
  3. Why do girls wear head coverings in an address and Q&A when they are not assembly meetings? I understand the thought that we should be prayerful during meeting, but we’re told to pray without ceasing so that reason would bring you to wear one all the time.
  4. Can you please give a brief outline for the book of Revelation? How far through the prophecies there are we?
  5. I am ashamed of myself for this, but I have trouble sharing the gospel with others. I know that according to Romans 1:16, I should be ready and willing to share it. Do you have any suggestions?

2nd Q&A, Michigan Camp 2025

Recording from Michigan Camp 2025.

Questions:

  1. What does effective shepherding look like today? What qualifies someone to be a shepherd?
  2. I have a Christian colleague who is marrying a guy from a Catholic background, but is not saved and does not attend anywhere consistently to my knowledge, at the end of this month. I know based on 2 Corinthians 6:14 that what she’s doing is wrong. But I don’t have a relationship with her outside of work, and don’t want to ruin what we do have. What should I do?
  3. When speaking to peers about the power of Jesus blood, some will question why or how God can forgive and save people whom society deems deplorable such as Hitler or Epstein.

Well, I know that the blood of Christ can wash away the vilest of sins and that every sin is equally bad in God’s eyes. I would enjoy some wisdom on how to better explain salvation to those that use this point to excuse it as crazy.

  4. What does Hebrews 5:9 mean when it says Jesus was “made perfect”? He was always perfect!
  5. Today we hear so much about “self care” that can so easily tip into “selfish care”. I’m wondering if there are some biblical principles/examples that could help one discern if they are fulfilling a “want” or a “need”. 2 Cor. 12:15, Matt. 14:23

2nd Q&A, Session #2, Michigan Camp 2018

Recording from Michigan Camp 2018.

Questions:

  1. Per Luke 17:5-6, it seems as if faith is binary, that you either have it or not, and that it cannot be increased. Is this correct? If so, sometimes we reference a Christian or describe the OT saints in Hebrews 11 as having a lot of faith. How do these reconcile?
  2. On the Eternal Sonship of Christ:
    • What is the importance of the Eternal Sonship of Christ?
    • If the term is not found in scripture, what are some examples where the truth is clearly presented or inferred?
    • Is this a fundamental point of fellowship? If one does not believe it, is it right for us to have fellowship with him or her, and should they be received at the Lord’s Table?
  3. Is it okay to marry your second or third cousin?

  1. If weed is “legal,” should or can a Christian smoke or ingest biblically?

6th Q&A, Session #6, Michigan Camp 2019

Recording from Michigan Camp 2019.

  1. Do you have any advice for young people as they may start to notice others of the opposite gender?
  2. In Proverbs 4, is it correct to say that when ‘she’ is being used, that it is talking about wisdom, understanding or something else?
  3. I have heard Christians say in reference to other Christians who have died, things like:

    • “she is in heaven now” or
    • “he has his new body” or
    • “he’s walking on streets of gold”.

There seems to be much misunderstanding as to what happens after death and before the rapture. What does scripture teach us on this subject?

3rd Q&A, Michigan Camp 2025

Recording from Michigan Camp 2025.

Questions:

  1. How do you honor your parents if you don’t respect them? What are the similarities / differences between honor and submission?
  2. In Genesis 17:17 it says that Abraham laughed, Seemingly for the same reason that Sarah did. Why in Genesis 18:13 does the Lord only address Sarah laughing?
  3. Genesis 17:1-2 describes the covenant made between God and Abraham. In Genesis 22:15-18, after Abraham shows his faith, God promises blessing to Abraham. Do God’s promises depend on human obedience?
  4. What are we meant to be doing during the passing of the emblems?
  5. 1 Samuel 16:14 “But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.” I understand the first half of the verse, but would the second half not be a demon which wouldn’t be from God? Is it correct to say that the Lord allowed an evil spirit or a demon from the devil to possess Saul?
